The Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA) is pleased to announce that Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) have recently been released for the Unconventional Onshore Program, Small Producer Program and the Ultra-deepwater Program. Please visit RPSEA’s Web site at www.rpsea.org to review the RFP’s. You are invited to submit a proposal in response to these RFP’s and should review the documents and instructions concerning these proposals without delay. Additional RFP’s will be forthcoming.
As you may know RPSEA was chosen through an open and competitive process to manage funds under the Energy Policy Act of 2005 for research, development, demonstration and commercialization of technologies that will promote increased domestic production from ultra-deepwater offshore resources and from onshore unconventional natural gas and other petroleum resources. This is a 10-year $500 million dollar program. RPSEA provides a new model for public/private cooperation in energy technology. Among the unique features, this new model is:
· Led by the industry
· Integrated thru an Annual Plan
· Stable with 10-year directed spending
· Leveraged by existing capabilities and
· Driven by technology transfer.
